Manuel Alvarez, better known as Manny, is the founder and chef behind The Chef Manny. He began his culinary career in his native country, El Salvador. At the age of 12, he started to learn his way around the kitchen by helping his mother on their bakery—a panadería built from the ground up.

Through his family’s culinary craft, Manny knew his dream was to become a chef. He quickly immersed himself in the art of culinary innovation, soon after he started working professionally as a kitchen helper at the age of 17. He graduated from ITCA in 2001. 

CRAFTING CULINARY ART FOR 18 YEARS

For nine years, chef Manny moved to Canada, where he worked at the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in the cities of Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton. While traveling, chef Manny focused greatly on learning about places through the lens of food, and this inspired him to get more experience in International Cuisine. Six years ago, chef Manny moved to Los Angeles where he focused on curating, crafting, and infusing dishes with his International Cuisine expertise for the prestigious Beverly Hills Hotel and Bell Air Hotel within the Fine Dinning Services.
